Governor Walz announced this past Thursday that all physical distancing requirements at indoor gatherings will end midnight May 27, 2021. That means parishes may open churches for full attendance at Mass and other gatherings starting Friday, May 28. The indoor face-covering mandate will expire July 1, 2021 (or sooner if 70% of eligible Minnesotans are vaccinated). Currently, 59% of eligible Minnesotans are vaccinated.
For Catholics here in the Archdiocese, the Sunday Mass obligation is still currently suspended but this will probably change in the near future per Archbishop Hebda’s discernment. We encourage physical Mass attendance if possible and a true keeping holy of the Lord’s day (resting from servile labor and giving worship to God). We encourage safety but always in relation to our salvation!
We will suspend livestreaming Mass starting June 6, 2021. Our last streamed Mass will be Sunday, May 30 at 8am.
