This Sunday marks the beginning of the Advent season, and as we enter a new liturgical year, there is a pressing need for volunteers to assist in the decoration of the church. The busy times for church decorating are shortly before Advent, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, and Pentecost, and all throughout Holy Week and Easter. Sunday, Dec. 24: 4 p.m. There will be a 9 a.m. Mass for the 4th Sunday of Advent. *There will be NO 7 p.m. Mass* Monday, Dec. 25: 9 a.m. ONLY Sunday, Dec. 31: 9 a.m. ONLY Monday, Jan. 1: 9 a.m. ONLY Sunday, Jan. 7: 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14: 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, January 21st will return to the regularly scheduled Semester Mass times of 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 7 p.m. There will be no Confessions following the Masses listed above. The building will be closed on Monday, December 25th, and Monday, January 1st with the exception of 9 a.m. Mass in observance of Christmas and New Years.
The Women Growing in Faith group invite all women of the parish to connect over coffee, cocoa and cookies at our upcoming Advent reflection on Tuesday December 5 at 6:30 pm in the Gathering Space. Details are available on the website or by contacting Amy Sippl - [email protected].
We would like to give the community of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Newman Center the opportunity to purchase Christmas flowers in honor or in memory of loved ones. The suggested donation is $15. Names of those honored will appear in the bulletin on the Sunday after Christmas. Complete this form or fill out the form in the gathering space and turn it into the parish office.
Thanksgiving Mass will be Thursday, November 23rd at 9 a.m. ONLY. 12:15 p.m. Mass or Confession WILL NOT be offered this day. The building will be closed for the remainder of the day. Friday, November 24th, the building will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no Mass or Confession available on this day.

Join us on Sunday, October 29th after the 10:30 a.m. Mass for a BBQ. This will be a time for the entire Newman Center community to come together to enjoy some BBQ and fellowship with one another. All are welcome.
Join us for the Young Adult Group fall retreat, "Encounter Christ" on Friday and Saturday, November 3rd and 4th. The retreat includes talks centered on encountering Christ and discipleship, small groups, adoration, praise and worship, confession, and community. The cost to attend is $20.

As we reflect and learn more about the Eucharist through the National Eucharistic Revival, join us on the last Sunday of the Month for a Eucharistic Encounter Night after the 7 p.m. Mass. We’ll have an opportunity to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament, have praise and worship, and be prayed over if desired.

Monday, September 4th, the building will be closed in light of Labor Day apart from 9 a.m. Mass and Confession. We will not have 12:15 p.m. Mass or Confession.
Beginning this month, Fr. Paul Helfrich, BH of the Archdiocese of Boston will be with us for the next year living in the rectory with the Brotherhood of Hope as a priest in residence. This means you’ll see him on occasion celebrating Mass and Confession here at the Newman Center.
Sam Mishler, Class of 2022, who helps in various mass functions (altar serving, sacristan) will be entering a formation year with the Saint Paul Seminary's Pre-Formation Household. This household fosters healthy discernment of the Catholic priesthood and growth in Christian virtue.. He will be receiving a Rite of Blessing at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on September 3rd, and would love to visit in person with anyone who has questions. Read Sam's official announcement below.
